How do I migrate my data from SellerDeck to Actinic?

Import Process for Products and Images

The SellerDeck (previously Actinic Desktop) Migration Tool was developed for SellerDeck v10 desktop software including, Catalogue, Business & Business Plus and works with Actinic DataPlug. The tool is currently being tested with SellerDeck v11. If you have an earlier version of SellerDeck desktop please contact tech support to find out about your options for upgrading to one of these versions free of charge for the migration.

Go to the “Import/Products” menu in the DataPlug and select “Actinic Business (which corresponds to SellerDeck Business)”.

The results above show that 13 simple products and 34 products with options were created. Below is a detailed explanation of the products that were created.

 Products with Components or Attributes

Products with attributes or components will be imported as products with options in the Actinic system.
To do this, we create unique product codes based on the original reference, followed by a dash “–“ and then 6 alphanumeric characters.
Take the following product for example. 13 is the original reference for the product “Widescreen Multimedia PC” in the SellerDeck Business demo database.

The import will create the following:

  • A parent product whose code is “13”
  • 18 other products which represent all of the different variations of the 3 options types: “Monitor Size”, “Hard Disk Size” and “Extra Drive Size”.

  • The image below illustrates this example once it has been imported into the Actinic system. As you can see, the parent product code is “13”.

The image below shows the different variations that were created with a product code of “13”, followed by a dash “-“ and then 6 alphanumeric characters.

IMPORTANT: Inventory level (quantity in stock) is not imported because the way products with options are managed differs between Actinic and SellerDeck Business.

    Images
Imported images are organised into categories in the Actnic image gallery. These categories are created to match the SellerDeck Business sections.

As you can see in the image below, the image “x-camera1.jpg” is attached to the product “Digital Camera” and classified in the section “Cameras”

The section “Cameras” is recreated as a category in the Actinic image gallery and holds the image “x-camera1.jpg”

     Import Process for Buyers

It is important to link your Customer Groups to an Actinic price when importing your products, and before importing your buyers because the import procedure requires that an Actinic price be assigned to each client.

In the import wizard, you can import all buyers or only select active buyers.
