All Actinic ecommerce products provide 128-bit secure encryption, ensuring that sensitive information such as credit card numbers are never stored in clear text on the web site. The level of security provided is higher than the industry standard SSL - which is also supported by Actinic's desktop ecommerce and web hosting packages.
Encryption takes place either using a Java applet or a Secure Server. The Java applet option is included with our desktop packages at no extra cost, but cannot be used by the small minority of shoppers who do not have Java installed on their PCs. Our Shared SSL service is available for a small additional monthly or annual fee, and enables secure credit card ordering for all visitors to your web site. All orders processed using Actinic Express, our fully-hosted ecommerce solution, are encrypted on Actinic secure servers as part of the package.
Actinic integrates out of the box with a number of 3rd party payment gateways who provide full credit card security and transaction processing services.
