Actinic v10
Actinic v10 provides new functionality for merchants and web designers in the areas of order processing, customer management and site marketing while also improving the shopping experience for customers.
Key new and enhanced features
Actinic real time stock control provides enhanced stock management for the merchant and up-to-date visibility of stock levels for the shopper. The function manages stock changes from online orders in real time on the website and provides a user configurable, automated stock synchronisation facility between the website and the PC.
Accurate and up-to-date stock levels are presented on the website providing visibility to the shopper as to whether products are in stock at the time of purchase, leading to improved customer service particularly where, for example, a next day delivery service is offered or for a ‘While Stocks Last’ sale.
The real time stock control function works with Actinic EPOS Link and the MOTO (Mail Order/Telephone Order) to improve stock management and provide up-to-date information for retail businesses operating across multiple sales channels.
The new streamlined checkout improves the shopper experience by reducing the original checkout process to 4-steps. Additional improvements include the ability to add thumbnail product images in the cart, a pop-up facility for presenting the terms and conditions and the ability to hide cart details for long purchase lists.
Currently only seen on a small number of high profile sites, this new marketing feature displays a list of products to the shopper they have previously viewed on the website. It provides an improved shopping experience and assists in increasing sales by making it easy for shoppers to return to products that they were interested in.
Customer feedback is increasingly becoming a ‘trustmark’ for online retailers and a demonstration of the retailer’s commitment to good customer service. Actinic merchants will now be able to present independent customer feedback on their site through a direct integration with a service provided by Feefo. Prospective shoppers will be able to view feedback and opinions from previous customers on the service and/or products.
Google have advised that reviews are becoming more important in search engine rankings. They have also introduced tags to enable reviews to be explicitly identified. Feefo automatically marks up all reviews so that Google can identify them and this will assist in improving search engine rankings. Improved search engine rankings combined with increased trust resulting from feedback will lead to an increase in orders.
