Founded in 1996, and based in West Byfleet, Surrey, Actinic has already helped tens of thousands of smaller companies start selling on the web. Since then, Actinic has become a general purpose supplier of applications and services to smaller retailers and wholesalers – primarily for ecommerce but also for in-store and telephone/mail order operations. Actinic has a range of ecommerce applications including web-based and desktop applications for start up and established businesses together with a range of products and services for web designers as well as EPOS solutions. In June 2011 Actinic entered into a joint venture with Oxatis, the market leader in ecommerce solutions in France. This led to the formation of a new UK business unit, Actinic Online, responsible for supplying, supporting and maintaining the Actinic Online products in the UK.

    Chris co-founded Actinic Software in 1996. He has over 30 years experience in the IT industry. Prior to founding Actinic, Chris held senior positions in Reuters and Cable and Wireless and spent time on the board of GLS (the UK's largest educational supplier). Latterly he has written many articles on EPOS and ecommerce for titles such as Independent Retailer and .Net. Recently he co-authored "Selling Successfully Online".
  • Ben Dyer – CEO, Actinic Desktop
    Ben joined Actinic in 2008 and previously worked for Xyratex, BSkyB and BAE Systems. At BAE Systems he won Apprentice of the Year and at BSkyB, he was part of the team responsible for relaunching SkySports.com and its supporting infrastructure. Ben is responsible for the Actinic Desktop division.
